Birth story of Shri Radha Rani, heartiest wishes to all of you on the occasion of Shri Radha Rani's appearance day.
Tumblr media
Birth story of Shri Radha Rani
Radha Rani's birthday or appearance day is known as Radhashtami. Radharani's birthday is celebrated with great pomp in Barsana on the Ashtami of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Radha and Krishna complement each other, where there is Krishna, there is Radha, where there is Radha, there is Krishna. Radha is said to be the soul of Krishna, hence one of the names of Lord Krishna is also Radharaman.
Birth of Shri Radha Rani
Today we will present before you some facts related to the birth of Radha ji, which almost everyone is unaware of. Where was Radha ji born? This is a question, whose exact answer we get through Brahmavaivarta Purana. According to this great text, Radhaji was born on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month and this day is still celebrated as Radha Ashtami. It is believed that on this day, Lord Krishna's beloved Radha was born in Braj.
It is popular about Radha ji that she was from Barsana. But, the reality is that she was born 50 km away from Barsana. This village is famous by the name of Rawal. This is Radha's birthplace.
Radha was born on a lotus flower
There is a temple of Radha in Rawal village. It is believed that this is Radha ji's birthplace.
According to Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, 5 thousand years ago Yamuna used to flow touching Rawal village.
Radha's mother Kriti used to worship while bathing in Yamuna and longed for a daughter.
One day while worshiping, a lotus flower appeared from Yamuna. A golden glow was coming out of the lotus flower. The eyes of a little girl were closed in it. Now that place is the sanctum sanctorum of this temple.
11 months later, Lord Krishna was born in Kansa's prison in Mathura, 3 km away.
He was taken to Nandbaba's house in Gokul at night. Then Nand Baba sent a message everywhere and Krishna's birthday was celebrated.
When Vrishbhanu went there with Radharani in his lap with congratulations, Radharani crawled on her knees to reach Balkrishna. As soon as she sat there, Radharani's eyes opened and she had the first darshan of Balkrishna.
Why did Radha and Krishna go to Barsana?
After Krishna's birth, Kansa's wrath had increased in Gokul. The people here were troubled.
Nandbaba gathered the local kings. At that time, Vrishbhanu was the biggest king of Brij. He had 11 lakh cows. Whereas, Nand ji had nine lakh cows.
The one who had the most cows was called Vrishbhanu. Those who had fewer cows than that were called Nand.
After the meeting, it was decided to leave Gokul and Rawal.
Nand Baba and the people fled from Gokul and went to the hill, which was named Nandgaon. Vrishbhaan took Kriti and Radharani to the hill, which was named Barsana.
Jai Jai Shri Radhe.

As a child he was mischievous and his childhood was full of pranks and fun. Some worship Krishna as the ideal child of innocence. In his youth, he was the most romantic lover and wooed young girls with his flute. The girls were devoted to him and Radha was his greatest devotee. He was a compassionate king and cared for the poor. He was a loyal and trusted friend. He was skilled in war and counseled his friend, Arjuna, on the battle field of Kurukshetra, giving the world the greatest scripture-Bhagwad Gita, which is read worldwide. Just before the war, Arjuna had a dialogue with Krishna, in which Krishna had explained how an aspiring seeker might seek union with God. This formed the basis of Bhagwad Gita, which till date, when studied, comes forth every time with new meaning. Unlike the other scriptures of the past, The Gita did not teach world renunciation, but instead encouraged world acceptance. There are many exciting stories about Sri Krishna from his birth to his death. Those who believe in the Hindu faith and in Sri Krishna, celebrate their adorable God’s birthday in the form of Janmashtami. On this day, devotees pray and keep a fast to obtain the grace of Lord Krishna. It is one of the biggest religious festivals in India. When was Sri Krishna born? Janmashtami is the birth date of Lord Krishna—the day he made his earthly appearance. According to mythological texts, Shri Krishna was born in the month of BHadrapad, on the eight day of the dark fortnight. #krishnajanmashtami https:// /watch-7thheaven-illustration-show-and-contribute-for-the-making-of-7thheaven-on-earth/ https://www.instagram.com/p/B1OQAqhAfWV/?igshid=1g2oh8jwg8gpn

Sree Krishna Janmashtami Wishes to Everyone - TemplePurohit.com Krishna is one of the most widely worshiped avatars of Mahavishnu. Janmashtami literally translates to birthday and Krishna janmashtami commemorates the birth of lord Krishna. Krishna jayanthi is not exclusive to vaishnavites alone. Across the Hindu society, Krishna janmashtami is celebrated by all. According to traditional Hindu astrology, Lord Krishna was born when the moon entered the house of Vrishabha (Taurus) at the Rohini Nakshatram (star) on the eight day (Ashtami) of the second fortnight of the month of Sravana (this corresponds to the month of Bhadrapada Krishnapaksha in North India). All these conditions have to match to celebrate Sri Krishna Jayanti but most of the time these conditions never match in the calendars of various Hindu sects. Krishna in Bhagavad Gita asks to rise above time, birth and death and even for him we have determined two birthdays. Krishna Janmashtami 2017 Puja Muhurat Nishita Puja Time = 24:03+ to 00:47 Duration = 0 Hours 43 Mins Mid Night Moment = 00:25 On 15th, Parana Time = After 17:39 On Parana Day Ashtami Tithi End Time = 17:39 Janmashtami without Rohini Nakshatra Dahi Handi on 15th, August Ashtami Tithi Begins = 19:45 on 14/Aug/2017 Ashtami Tithi Ends = 17:39 on 15/Aug/2017 So the different sections in Hinduism have adopted their own standards for celebrating the birthday of Lord Krishna. For some sect, it is the ‘ashtami' day that is important. For some sect, it is the star ‘rohini. Most of the time, Krishna Janmashtami is listed on two consecutive days. One is for Smarta Sampradaya and other one is for Vaishanava Sampradaya. Vaishanava Sampradaya date is the latter one. A single date for Janmashtami means that both Sampradaya would observe Janmashtami on the same date. The followers of Vaishnavism give preference to Ashtami Tithi and Rohini Nakshatra. The followers of Vaishnavism never observe Janmashtami on Saptami Tithi. Janmashtami day according to Vaishnava rules always fall on Ashtami or Navami Tithi on Hindu calendar. However rules followed by Smartism to decide Janmashtami day are more complex. The preference is given to Nishita or Hindu midnight. The preference is given to the day, either Saptami Tithi or Ashtami Tithi, when Ashtami Tithi prevails during Nishita and further rules are added to include Rohini Nakshatra. The final consideration is given to the day which has the most auspicious combination of Ashtami Tithi and Rohini Nakshatra during Nishita time. Janmashtami day according to Smarta rules always fall on Saptami or Ashtami Tithi on Hindu calendar. There are a few traditions practiced during Sri Krishna Janmashtami, No grains should be consumed during Janmashtami fasting until the fast is broken on next day after Sunrise. All rules followed during Ekadashi fasting should be followed during Janmashtami fasting also. Parana which means breaking the fast should be done at an appropriate time. For Krishna Janmashtami fasting, Parana is done on next day after Sunrise when Ashtami Tithi and Rohini Nakshatra are over. If Ashtami Tithi and Rohini Nakshatra don't get over before Sunset then fast can be broken during day time when either Ashtami Tithi or Rohini Nakshatra is over. When neither Ashtami Tithi nor Rohini Nakshatra is over before Sunset or even Hindu Midnight (also known as Nishita Time) one should wait to get them over before breaking the fast. Sri Krishna Birth Story The most important ritual is done during night when it is said that Krishna was born. The story of Krishna's birth and childhood is something we have all been told and retold since our childhood. Kamsa was a tyrant who ruled over Mathura, the mention of his name sent shivers down the spine of his subjects. Kamsa's sister was married to Vasudeva, a voice from the heavens echoed across the kingdom. It prophesied that their 8th son would kill Kamsa. Kamsa immediately decided to kill both of them but vasudeva begged for mercy with a condition that each child should be handed over to kamsa on birth. Hence kamsa put both his sister and her husband in prison. When Devaki gave birth to her first child, Kamsa came to the prison cell and slaughtered the newborn. In this way, he killed the first six sons of Devaki. Even before her 8th child was born, Devaki and Vasudeva started lamenting its fate and theirs. As soon as baby Krishna was born a white dazzling light blinded all the guards and officers in the prison. Even devaki fainted at the sight of the light then suddenly Lord Vishnu appeared before them and said he himself was coming to rescue them and the people of Mathura. .He asked Vasudeva to carry him to the house of his friend, the cowherd chief Nanda in Gokula right after his birth, where Nanda's wife Yashoda had given birth to a daughter. Vishnu assured them that “nothing shall bar your path”. Vasudeva had to carry baby Krishna over the river Yamuna and there was a heavy rain, but the five headed snake adi sheshan gave him shelter and the river split in to two parts to make way for Vasudeva. When Vasudeva reached Gokula, he found the door of Nanda's house open. He exchanged the babies and hurried back to the prison of Kamsa with the baby girl. Early in the morning, all the people at Gokula rejoiced the birth of Nanda's beautiful male child. Vasudeva came back to Mathura and as he entered, the doors of the prison closed themselves. When Kamsa came to know about the birth, he rushed inside the prison and tried to kill the baby. But the child turned in to goddess yoga Maya who taunted kamsa that his end was coming sooner than he anticipated. His nemesis will return to Mathura to take back what is rightfully his. Krishna's birthplace Mathura and Vrindavan celebrate this occasion with great pomp and show. Raslilas or religious plays are performed to recreate incidents from the life of Krishna and to commemorate his love for Radha. At our very own homes we decorate idols of Krishna, recreate footprints of Krishna leading from the door to the puja room. Making Krishna's favorite delicacies is also habitual among Hindus, to those who can't afford it just butter and ghee appeases the lord. It must be remembered here that Lord Krishna is happy with anything that is offered to him in true devotion. Krishna was happy with sweat drenched beaten rice offered by Cochlea or Susana. He was happy with the last leaf left in Draupadi's Akaheyapatra. He was content with the gruel in Vidura's (Dhritarashtra's minister in Mahabharata) home. Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita, “If you offer Me with love a leaf, flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.” Krishna is not as grand as we make of him. He is what you see in him. To some he is the grand king of Mathura, to others the valuable adviser he was to Arjuna or the wonderful friend to Kuselan. friend king or adviser, he simple, kind and divine in all his forms. Not to mention charming and mischievous. It is believed that lord Krishna visits all his devotees' houses and blesses them with health and happiness. In most temples, plays and kadhakalakshebam (musical plays) are organized which educated the audience about lord Krishna. The stories are conveyed through song which makes it a thoroughly enjoyable affair. Those who do not believe in materialistic worship of the lord, can resort to reading bhagavad gita and Krishna puranam and have an enlightening evening. The joy of knowledge doubles when it is shared hence preaching the stories of Krishna to you near and dear people is a blissful experience. http://ift.tt/2hX6ZMy
